All Night with Jason Smith
Monday - Friday: 1:00 AM - 5:00 AM
Jason Smith comes to ESPN full-time as host of AllNight with Jason Smith (Monday-Friday from 1A-6A ET) after joining the network as weekend and fill-in host in December of 2003 as host of the Saturday and Sunday 'GameDay' shows with Mel Kiper Jr., and in a solo capacity. He has also guest-hosted for 'The Dan Patrick Show', 'The Herd with Colin Cowherd', 'Sportsbash', 'GameNight' and 'AllNight' on a regular basis. He has also worked for ESPN Radio affiliate KSPN-AM 710 in Los Angeles, hosting in afternoon time-slots and pre and post- game shows for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins. (He can also be seen as a panelist on 'The Sports List', hosted by Summer Sanders.) Coming to ESPN is a return home for Jason, as he began his post-graduate career in TV production for ESPN in Bristol, CT, working on 'SportsCenter' from 1993-1996, winning an Emmy Award for his role in the show.
After moving to the West Coast in the fall of 1996, Jason produced sports for television in Los Angeles until 2000, both with Fox Sports Net and KABC-TV. It was while at ABC his radio career started, and it happened quite accidentally. While at ABC he met Ellen K, ('Rick Dees In the Morning'/'On-Air with Ryan Seacrest') who thought he would make a good sports talk radio host. She introduced him to the people she knew at XTRA Sports 1150-AM in L.A., and he began work there, starting his professional career as a radio personality in 2000. Jason quickly moved from Los Angeles radio to the national scene, as a host at Fox Sports Radio for four years, first in late night and then afternoon drive until January of 2003.
Jason grew up in Staten Island, New York, and graduated from Syracuse University. He has lived in Southern California since 1996 with his girlfriend Pamela, however he has said repeatedly he would sacrifice her if it would somehow enable the Jets to win the Super Bowl.
